What to buy: Tree trunk slice table, World Market, $230 2. “I love that you can see the rings through the glass and that a stump can be either rustic or stand out as a statement piece in a modern home,” he adds. Take this idea to the next level by adding a glass top, suggests Drew Henry, founder of Design Dudes. “Irregularly shaped levels or slices of a tree trunk or agates offer an organic look as well as interest,” suggests Julie Ann Disselkamp, owner of Decorating Den Interiors by JT Inc.
